Theme: Changing Behaviors for Good: What Works

The 2012 Tedx MontlakeCut focused on how to use social marketing strategies to spur behavior change. The event brought together leaders in the field of social marketing who shared their key insights into what works in behavior change campaigns. Attendees learned:

  1. How to frame a social marketing campaign for success
  2. How to define audience barriers to a desired behavior change and how to overcome them
  3. How to gain insights into a target audience group including the importance of getting out from behind your desk and engaging directly with the people you are trying to influence
  4. That where you place a message is just as important as what a message is
  5. How to tap into social norms to encourage behavior change
  6. About the need for brands to be authentic with their audiences
  7. How to drop the awesome bomb – that idea that cuts through the clutter

Moderator Dave Ross kept the day fun and engaging with pop quizzes and humor.
