Short Bio
Helene oversees the project management of the City of Edmonton's Waste Services' outreach programs in support of Edmonton's 25-year Waste Strategy. She researches and develops evidence-based campaigns to change waste behaviour. Helene leads a small team of outreach coordinators who are adding the resident-support piece to various waste reduction and diversion projects such as the introduction of source-separated organics collection in residential homes and the introduction of Edmonton's Single-use item reduction bylaw. The team trains a large team of waste outreach educators every year on community-based social marketing best practices to use while campaigning.
